APSTAR-7 Launch

March 31, 2012

__China successfully delivered the APSTAR 7 Communications Satellite to Orbit. The Payload was launched at 10:27 GMT on Saturday from the Xichang Satelltie Launch Center, Sichuan province, China, aboard a Long-March Launch Vehicle in its 3B/E Configuration featuring an enlarged first stage and liquid-fueled strap-on boosters. The three Stage Rocket performed as expected.

Robotic Refueling Mission underway aboard ISS

The Robotic Refueling Mission is an effort by NASA and the Canadian Space Agency to demonstrate robotic Satellite Servicing Capabilities in a Space Environment. RRM is a small module that is attached to the International Space Station and holds equipment necessary for several tasks that are needed to practice servicing operations in space using the Canadian Dextre Robot and special tools that are part of the RRM Payload. This is the first time the Dextre Robot is used for technology research and development. The tests will be performed over a two year duration with first demonstrations in March 2012.

Oko Launch Updates

Launching from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kzakhstan on March 30, 2012, a Proton-K Rocket has successfully delivered an Oko Early Missle Warning Satellite to Orbit. The Russian Government owned Payload was delviered on the final Flight of the Proton-K Rocket after a 45-year career.
