Compass M3/M4 Launch Updates
|
China has successfully completed its next Orbital Launch delivering two Payloads to Orbit. A Long March 3B Rocket lifted off from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center at 20:50:03 GMT and released its payloads into the desired Transfer Orbit. On this Flight, the Compass M3 and M4 Satellites were delivered to orbit. Both payloads are set to become part of China's Beidou Satellite Navigation and Communication System. The Beidou-2 Constellation of Satellites is currently under development and will feature 35 orbiting satellites once complete.

Progress M-15M Mission Updates

Following its Launch aboard a Soyuz-U Rocket on Friday, April 20, the Progress M-15M International Space Station Resupply Spacecraft has successfully completed its 2-day journey to link up and dock with the Space Station. Docking occurred on Sunday at 14:39 GMT and was as planned without any technical problems. The Progress actually arrived earlier than planned showing that all operations were proceeding very smoothly. Mission Updates |
North Korea - Kwangmyongsong-3 Launch Updates

North Korea has launched its Unha-3 Launch Vehicle with the Kwangmyongsong-3 Satellite on April 12, 2012 at 22:38:55 GMT (April 13 local time) from the Sohae Satellite Launch Center, North Korea. The flight was officially declared a failure by Government Officials which marks the first time the North Korean Government admitted defeat after claiming that their first two satellites had reached orbit, but - according to US Space Surveillance - never made it to Low Earth Orbit. A United Launch Alliance Delta IV Rocket in its Medium+ (5,2) Configuration lifted off on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 23:12 GMT from Space Launch Complex 6 at Vandenberg Air Force Station, California, after several launch delays. After completing a classified flight trajectory, the Launch Vehicle successfully delivered the NROL-25 Spacecraft to its targeted Orbit. Update Page |
